I am writing this testimonial as the chairman of the new Kentford and Kennett Village Hall Planning Committee. The villages of Kentford and Kennett are building a new village hall on the playing fields in Kennett using funds predominantly from Section 106 community funding. The association engaged KJ Architects Ltd to design the new hall, provide drawings and supporting paperwork for the planning application and eventually provide architectural project management for the construction of the new facility. Keith Johns, who is the principal architect, was selected from an extensive list of architects in London because he engaged the planning committee in his vision, understood the needs and requirements of the association and spoke honestly and with complete common sense on his approach and direction.
One of the most important drivers for the new hall was to remain as close to the budget as possible and therefore the need to produce a design which was going to be zero rated for VAT was an important factor. Keith Johns went the extra mile to research and produce, not only an innovative and inspirational design to achieve this, but he was instrumental in providing additional supporting evidence to HMRC to make a persuasive case that eventually fell in our favour. The drawings and the planning application that was prepared on our behalf by KJ Architects Ltd were detailed, thorough, and complete.
Keith Johns is an impressive and highly competent architect. Not only is he totally professional, but he has extensive people skills which instills both trust and confidence in his clients. He is supported by an equally dedicated staff that communicates well, and ensures key information from the council planning team is handled quickly and efficiently. I have nothing but admiration for the professional, committed and enthusiastic team that support KJ Architects Ltd.
